Last Group Of Hajj Pilgrim Candidates Departed From Syamsudin Noor Airport

Banjarbaru– The Syamsudin Noor Airport served embarkation or departure of hajj pilgrim candidates of South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan from 9 August 2016 ago. The date of 23 August 2016 is the last day of the departure of hajj’s flight group in 2016. This is the first time the hajj pilgrim candidates was transported by Saudi Arabian Airlines route Banjarmasin - Batam - Madinah with air carriers that used  namely Onurair Turkey.

The hajj pilgrim candidates this year came from various areas in South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan Provinces including Banjarmasin, Banjarbaru, Tanah Laut, Hulu Sungai Utara, Barito Kuala, Banjar, Kotabaru, Tanah Bumbu, Hulu Sungai Selatan, Tabalong, Tapin, Kotabaru, Balangan, Hulu Sungai Timur, Batola, Sampit, Pangkalan Bun, Palangkaraya, Kota Waringin Barat, Kota Waringin Timur, Palangkaraya, Sampit, and Kuala Kapuas.

“Since departed on 9 August until last flight group on 23 August ago the number of hajj pilgrim candidates recorded, there were 4,182 people consist of 1,883 men and 2,299 women, as well as the amount of luggage being transported as many as 72,664 kg.” said General Manager, Handy Heryudhitiawan.

Data on departure plan recorded the hajj pilgrim candidates departed as many as 4,198 people consisting of pilgrims from South Kalimantan (3,048), Central Kalimantan (1,080 people), Indonesia Hajj supervising team (14 perople), as well as Indonesia Hajj medical team (42 people). However, due to illness and other reasons then 16 pilgrims cannot be departed.

Readiness in implementation of embarkation service for hajj pilgrim candidates at Syamsudin Noor Airport this year are running safely and smoothly because it is supported by adequate human resources and facilities include 32 licensed Aviation Security personnel, 2 units x-ray, metal handled, and other supporting equipments. As for the Airport Fire Fighting and Rescue there were 34 licensed personnel, 3 units ambulance, 1 unit rescue tender, 4 units foam tender, as well as 1 unit water tank to anticipate the event of unwanted things.

“All praises to Allah, in addition to the embarkation or departure of candidate hajj pilgrims which successfully implemented, Syamsudin Noor Airport will also serve disembarkation or return of hajj pilgrims starting from 17 to 30 September 2016, for that matter, we have prepared the human resources and facilities.” said Handy Heryudhitiawan.
